
Michaela Reinfeld
Michaela Reinfeld is a Classical Archaeologist with a Master’s degree from Humboldt University of Berlin and more than 20 years of expertise in underwater archaeology. She specializes in maritime economic archaeology, shipwreck and harbour studies, the development of underwater archaeological methods, and the management of submerged cultural heritage sites. As a certified research diver (European Scientific Diver), she has led and contributed to numerous international projects in Egypt, Germany, Italy, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Cyprus, collaborating with universities, research institutes, and NGOs. Her work includes surveys and excavations at prominent harbour and shipwreck sites such as the area around Jeddah, Sorrento, Klazomenai, and Karantina. Alongside her fieldwork, Michaela has taught maritime archaeology at Humboldt University of Berlin and ANKÜSAM / Ankara University, and she serves as an instructor for underwater archaeology with CMAS, DEGUWA, and NAS. Michaela also brings extensive experience as a project manager for offshore archaeology in the North Sea and the Baltic Sea.
