Dr Karolina Trusz is a Mediterranean and underwater archaeologist whose research interests focus on ancient maritime trade routes, harbour infrastructure, shipwreck analysis and submerged cultural heritage. She completed her PhD at the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnology of the Polish Academy of Sciences and holds a postgraduate diploma in Project Management from the Warsaw School of Economics (SGH). Since 2006, she has gained extensive field experience through international underwater research missions in the Mediterranean and the Black Sea, working on survey and documentation projects with interdisciplinary teams of archaeologists, divers and heritage specialists. Since 2014, she has served as one of the coordinators of the UNESCO UniTwin Network for Underwater Archaeology on behalf of the University of Warsaw. She has been conducting underwater research in Romania within the ArchLiMar Project at the University of Warsaw, focusing on the Dobrudja region and the maritime landscape of the Danube Delta.
