
Martijn Manders
Vice-President
Martijn Manders is vice-president of ICUCH.
He is maritime archaeologist and coordinator of the International Programme for Maritime Heritage at the Cultural Heritage Agency of the Netherlands (RCE). He is also professor of maritime and underwater archaeology and cultural heritage management at Leiden University in the Netherlands. For UNESCO he is, together with Chris Underwood, coordinator and teacher at the foundation Courses held in Asia and the Pacific region and Latin America and the Caribbean. Martijn works on the crossroad of science and (international) policy.
He is employed by the Dutch government since 1990 and has been in several functions ranging from field archaeologist to policy maker.
