Themes of special interest – Underwater Archaeology

He graduated from the Department of Art History and Archaeology of Eastern Mediterranean University and finished his master’s and PhD education in Underwater Archaeology at the Selcuk University of Konya-Turkey. He is one of the founders and first coordinator of the UNESCO UniTwin Underwater Archaeology Network between 2012 and 2015. He is the head of the division of Mediterranean Underwater Cultural Heritage and also head of the Department of Restoration and Conservation of Cultural Heritage, Faculty of Art – Akdeniz University**.** He is managing Underwater Archaeology Research Projects in the Turkish Mediterranean Coast, Secretary of ICOMOS-ICUCH (International Committee of Underwater Cultural Heritage), specialist member of ICOMOS Turkey – National Committee of Underwater Cultural Heritage, member of UNESCO National Observation Committee of Underwater Archaeology. He is also Director of Underwater Cultural Heritage of CMAS since the beginning of 2022.

He is an instructor of underwater archaeology and underwater photography for undergraduate and graduate students at various Turkish and European universities.
