Themes of special interest - Underwater Archaeology
He is graduated from the department of Art History and Archaeology of Eastern Mediterranean University and did finish his master and PhD education on Underwater Archaeology at Selcuk University of Konya-Turkey. He is one of the establishers and first coordinator of UNESCO UniTwin Underwater Archaeology Network between 2012 and 2015. He was the director of Selcuk University Underwater Research Center and head of the Underwater Archaeology Division of the same University until March 2018. Now he is the establisher of the division of Mediterranean Underwater Cultural Heritage of Akdeniz University / Antalya. He is also head of the Department of Restoration and Conservation of Cultural Heritage, Faculty of Art - Akdeniz University He is managing Underwater Archaeology Research Projects in Turkish Mediterranean Coast, Secretary of ICOMOS-ICUCH (International Committee of Underwater Cultural Heritage), specialist member of ICOMOS Turkey – National Committee of Underwater Cultural Heritage, member of UNESCO National Observation Committee of Underwater Archaeology.
He gives lectures on underwater archaeology and underwater photography as bachelor, M.A. and PhD levels at several universities in Turkey and Europe.
